So, I've somewhat recently discovered that I'm kind of in love with white nail polish.

And also, someone please enlighten me.

This little convo happened at work:

Kid Sitting Next to Me: "Hey- have you ever seen 30 Rock?"

Me: "Huh-uh."

Kid: "Oh. Well you remind me of the redhead on that show."

In my head: "Who the freak...?"

I give him one of those "'Hmm' + half-smile + turn back to my computer" things.

Kid: "Probably because you have red hair."

I give him another "courtesy laugh + half-smile + turn back to my screen" thing.

...is that a good thing?

(sorry- I sound kinda rude here, but there's this whole background story that I originally posted, but then took off because I thought it was too long.)

Basically the reason why I love going to work is because of my sweet supervisor and her husband. They are so awesome! They both know me and they both make me feel like more than just an employee that sits at a computer to take calls. Every time I see my supervisor, she always smiles at me and seems so happy to see me! Plus, she told me I was one of her favorite people. I feel special. :) They are honestly the reason why I stopped hating my job/dreading going to work and started loving it. I always look forward to seeing them when I go to work!

BUT...

I just found out yesterday that they're moving across the country.

So I'm thinking, "Well, they'll probably stay through the season."

WRONG.

Their last day is Friday.

kinda breaks my heart.

So, once upon a time, I went to Disneyland. I saw a hat. I put the hat back on the shelf. I went home. I wanted the hat. I blogged about it. Then Rhiana (haha!) saw my blog. Then she went to Disneyland. AND GUESS WHAT!!!

yes, she bought me the best hat in the world. Someone's a pretty happy camper. :)

(AND I just realized: I'm still a pirate. I'm freaking out about a hat. :) )

To be honest, I hated my job at the beginning of the summer. I really did. I hated my shift. I didn't want to have a phone job. I thought I was going to suck. Getting time off is a frustrating(ish) process. I just hated everything about it. I thought it was going to ruin my summer.

But... I kept an open mind, because I knew that the only way this job would completely ruin my summer if I let it. So I tried not to dread going to work every day.

Actually, it turns out that I actually really like this job. I made a friend. My supervisor is AWESOME. All of the supervisors are awesome. And a couple days ago, I was asked to stay an extra hour to help take calls and I said I would, even though I kinda didn't want to.... I also offered to help cover 30 min of another agent's shift for another day. My supervisor wrote back to me:

"Thanks for staying tonight! You are seriously one of my favorite people (not only because you cover hours - that is just a plus) :)."

It totally made my day! And then that night in that extra hour I stayed, they bought us (dA nIGHT cREW- which is relatively few in numbers) pizza cause we were busy and we were doing a good job. This day was kind of a turnaround point for me. I was already tolerating my job more than I did at the beginning, but this started turning "tolerating" into "liking."

Then came Saturday. My Saturday shifts are now 8 hours, and I thought it was going to be KILLER. And it was, but it wasn't. But in the last hour, I was kinda zombified. Plus, I was getting like 2 and 3 minutes in between calls, which are HUGE breaks for me. So then I get this email asking if I wanted to leave early (cause we were slow) and even though by this point I was actually kinda starting to like work, it's always nice to go home early and play with my little brothers. :) I was excited!

So, I've been happy at work. I have good associations there. Even when I don't get super sweet emails or pizza or let off early, it's really not that bad for me anymore. And today's my day off and it doesn't feel like some rare ray of sunshine in the midst of a storm. (haha! Trying to sound overly dramatic here, guys!) I mean I still love days off, but knowing that I have to go back in tomorrow doesn't upset me at all. yay! It took the span of like 2 months, but I actually really like my job! I know, right? Crazy! But I do! :)

I also really love my family! And we've been having lots of fun lately. :)

I love this kid! :)

I've been cleaning my room, and I found some chalk! So we've been playing with it. This was a request from one of my Texas peeps. haha!

I am a rockstar. ;)

So. I was thinking today. The result? I FINALLY found a middle name for my future baby girl (if I ever have one)!

Anyway, her name will be Ryder Sierra. I think it's pretty. Like a desert flower. :)
